What Makes a Groomsmen Suit Different?

A groomsmen suit is not just any formal wear. It's a statement piece designed to complement the wedding theme while making each member of the party feel confident and stylish. Unlike race day or corporate suits, groomsmen suits require a balance between uniformity and individual expression — ensuring every man in the party looks sharp and cohesive without losing his personal flair.

Here's what sets Chokman groomsmen suits apart:

Coordination Without Uniformity Groomsmen suits are carefully chosen to complement the groom's look while allowing each member to feel comfortable in their own style. At Chokman, we help you strike the right balance — whether you're going for a classic, modern, or slightly relaxed aesthetic. From matching suits to coordinating colour palettes, we ensure each groomsman feels at his best.

Comfort for a Full Day of Celebration From the ceremony to the reception and the dance floor, your groomsmen suit needs to keep up with the festivities. Chokman suits are tailored to provide maximum comfort using lightweight, breathable fabrics that allow ease of movement while maintaining a crisp, polished look. No stiff, ill-fitting suits here — only perfectly cut attire that moves with you.

Personalisation and Detailing Your suit should reflect your personality while adhering to the wedding theme. Whether it's a subtle monogram, a unique lining, or a custom fit that enhances your best features, Chokman ensures your suit is tailored to perfection down to the smallest detail.

The Chokman Group Fitting Process

Coordinating suits for 3–6+ groomsmen sounds complicated — we make it seamless.

Step 1 — Initial Consultation (Week 1) The groom and the groomsmen meet with John to discuss the wedding theme, venue, colour palette and style direction. Fabric samples are selected and the overall look is confirmed. Then each individual's measurements are taken ensuring every suit is cut to the individual, not a generic size.

Step 2 — Construction (Weeks 3–4) All suits are hand-crafted in our studio simultaneously — ensuring consistent quality and finish across every garment.

Step 3 — Final Fittings (Week 5-6) Each groomsman returns for a final fitting. Any adjustments are made in store. Suits are pressed and ready for collection. Complimentary ties and pocket squares are included.

Total turnaround: 5–6 weeks from initial consultation. Book early — particularly for spring and summer weddings.

“I bought and had my suit tailored here for a wedding in California where I was the brother of the bride. The attention to detail and measurements were superb. Most tailors that I have been to only measure your waist, arm length, chest, and leg length.

Chokman goes further into depth and measure sub categories such as your calves and biceps where other most places would ignore. I have worn many suits to all types of events but I have never gotten as many compliments as I did with the suit I received from Chokman. You can never go wrong with a well tailored suit and Chokman does tailored suits the right way.”

JOHNNIE TRAN

GROOMSMEN SUITS FOR MEN FAQ

Can groomsmen be different sizes and body types?

Absolutely. This is exactly where bespoke tailoring excels. Each groomsman receives 30+ individual measurements — ensuring the suit is cut to their specific body, not a generic size. Whether groomsmen range from slim to athletic to larger builds, every suit will fit perfectly.

What fabrics are best for groomsmen suits?

For most Sydney weddings we recommend Super 120s European wool — lightweight, breathable, and works year-round. For summer outdoor weddings, linen or linen-wool blends are ideal. For formal evening weddings, Super 140s or 160s wool offers a luxurious drape and finish.

How far in advance should we book groomsmen suits?

We recommend booking at least 8–10 weeks before your wedding date to allow time for group fittings, construction and final adjustments. For spring (September–November) and summer (December–February) weddings — Sydney's busiest wedding seasons — we recommend booking 3–4 months in advance to secure your preferred dates.

What is included in the groomsmen package price?

All packages include the suit jacket and trousers, complimentary ties and pocket squares, all fittings and adjustments, and a paper pattern kept permanently on file for future orders. Shirts are available separately from $150 — visit our Tailored Shirts page.

Can groomsmen keep their suits after the wedding?

Yes — and this is one of the biggest advantages of bespoke over hire. Every groomsman owns a hand-crafted suit made specifically for their body. Most groomsmen wear their suits regularly for work, events and future weddings. It's a far better investment than hire formalwear that fits nobody perfectly.
