Custom Tailored Suit - FAQ
How much does a custom tailored suit cost in CHOKMAN?
Chokman's bespoke suits are priced to reflect the quality of hand-tailoring, European fabric, and the level of customisation involved. Pricing varies based on fabric choice, suit construction, and the occasion.
$699 - $1399 for in-house Euro Wool fabric and $2200 onward for premium Holland & Sherry collections.
All suits include a consultation, 30+ measurements, hand-tailoring, and fitting. Unlike made-to-measure services, each Chokman garment is constructed from scratch to your exact specifications.
What is the difference between a bespoke suit and a made-to-measure and tailored made suit?
A bespoke suit is fully handcrafted using a unique pattern created exclusively for your body, requiring multiple fittings. A made to measure suit adjusts a base template to your measurements. Bespoke offers the highest level of fit and personalisation, while made-to-measure delivers faster turnaround at a more accessible price.
At Chokman, we offer exclusive body patterning to all our tailored suit clients as standard service.
How long does it take to get a tailored suit made?
A custom suit at Chokman takes 3 to 5 weeks from your initial consultation to collection. The process includes a 30-minute consultation, precise measurements across 30+ body points, fabric selection from 500+ European wool options, hand-crafting by in-house tailors, and at least one fitting to perfect the silhouette. Rush orders may be available (2-3 weeks)
Alterations after delivery take an additional 3–5 days.
Are tailored suits worth it compared to off-the-rack suits?
Yes. A tailor made suit offers superior fit, comfort, and durability compared to off-the-rack options. Proper shoulder alignment, sleeve length, and jacket balance significantly improve your overall appearance. Over time, a well-made custom suit often outperforms multiple cheaper ready-made suits.
What is the best fabric for a business suit?
For a business suit, 100% wool (Super 120s–140s) is the most versatile and durable option. Navy and charcoal are the most professional colours. For Australian climates, lightweight wool or wool blends provide breathability while maintaining structure.
What is the best suit for a wedding?
The best wedding suit depends on dress code and season. We would take the time to learn about your wedding environment, location and theme, then offer professional styling advice. In general, for formal evening weddings, a tuxedo is recommended. Many grooms choose a custom wedding suit to ensure perfect fit and coordinated styling with groomsmen.
How should a suit fit properly?
A properly tailored suit should:
-
Sit cleanly on the shoulders without wrinkling
-
Close comfortably without pulling at the button
-
Show 1cm of shirt cuff
-
Have trousers that break lightly on the shoe
We take more than 30 body measurements to ensure the perfect fit suit can be delivered.
