Our team have being tailoring women's suits for over 12 years, working with corporate executives, legal professionals, and brides across Sydney. Why Women Choose Chokman
Most suit retailers are built around men. Chokman is different. John understands that women's bodies don't conform to standard sizing — and that a suit which fits perfectly does more than look good. It changes how you carry yourself.
Every women's suit at Chokman is made from scratch to your measurements. We take 30+ measurements including posture, shoulder slope, waist-to-hip ratio and seat — the details most tailors skip. The result is a suit that moves with you, not against you.

Women's Suits We Make
Corporate & Business Suits
The cornerstone of a professional wardrobe. Chokman's women's business suits are tailored for Sydney's corporate environment — structured, refined and made to last. Choose from two-piece trouser suits, skirt suits or three-piece ensembles in classic corporate colours: charcoal, navy, mid-grey and black.
Fabric recommendation: Super 120s or Super 140s Australian Merino or European wool — breathable, wrinkle-resistant and polished under boardroom lighting. Price from $699 (2-piece, Super 120s).
Court Suits for Female Lawyers
Courtroom attire carries specific requirements in NSW — and an ill-fitting suit can undermine the authority you've worked hard to build. Chokman tailors court suits specifically for female lawyers and barristers, with an understanding of the dress standards expected in NSW courts.
We recommend Super 120s wool in charcoal or dark navy — professional weight, year-round comfort, and the structured silhouette required for court appearances. Every detail is considered: jacket length, lapel style, trouser break, and lining.
Many of our legal clients return for a second and third suit once they experience the difference a properly fitted court suit makes.
Price from $699 (2-piece, Super 120s).
Wedding & Bridal Suits
More brides are choosing suits. Whether you want a classic ivory trouser suit, a tailored tuxedo with peak lapels, or a relaxed linen two-piece for a garden ceremony — Chokman makes it to your vision.
Wedding suits are available in our full fabric range, including lighter Super 160s wools, fine linens and seasonal blends. Customisation options include contrast linings, monogramming, and bespoke button selection.
We also tailor suits for bridesmaids and the mother of the bride. Price from $699 (2-piece).
Formal & Event Suits
For galas, award ceremonies, black tie events and race days — a tailored suit makes a statement no off-the-rack option can match. Chokman's formal women's suits are available in fine Super 160s wool with optional satin lapels, contrast stitching, and luxury lining finishes.
Price from $1,399 (2-piece, Super 160s).
WOMEN'S TROUSER SUITS SYDNEY
The trouser suit is the most versatile piece in a professional woman's wardrobe — and in 2026 it's having its strongest moment in years. At Chokman, every women's trouser suit is built from 30+ individual measurements — no standard block pattern, no compromises on fit.
Styles we make:
The Power Suit — slightly longer jacket, broader shoulders, wide-leg trousers. The commanding silhouette of 2026. Ideal for boardroom presentations and senior corporate roles.
The Classic Two-Piece — structured jacket with notch or peak lapels, straight-cut trousers. The cornerstone of any professional wardrobe. Available in charcoal, navy, black and mid-grey.
The Relaxed Suit — softer construction, half-lined jacket, wide-leg trousers. Perfect for Sydney's warmer months and creative corporate environments.
The Modular System — blazer, waistcoat, trousers and skirt all in one fabric. Wear the full suit formally or mix pieces for different occasions.
From $699 — 2-piece Super 120s European wool. Add waistcoat or skirt from $299.
WOMEN'S SKIRT SUITS SYDNEY
A well-tailored skirt suit carries distinct authority — particularly in law, finance and senior government roles. At Chokman, every skirt is cut to your exact measurements — waist, seat, hip circumference and length all individually fitted.
Styles we make:
Pencil Skirt Suit — straight, fitted, falls at or just below the knee. The traditional choice for court appearances, senior corporate roles and conservative professional environments.
A-Line Skirt Suit — fits through the hips and flares gently to the hem. More movement than a pencil cut while maintaining a polished professional appearance.
Pleated or Wrap Skirt Suit — contemporary and fashion-forward. Popular in creative industries and less formal corporate environments.
Midi Skirt Suit — falls mid-calf, elegant drape. Ideal for formal events and galas in Super 140s or Super 160s wool.
For female lawyers requiring court-appropriate attire — see our Court Suits for Female Lawyers page.
From $699 — 2-piece Super 120s European wool.

The Chokman Process
1. Consultation: 30-45 minutes We begin with a conversation about your lifestyle, workplace, and how you want to feel in the suit. John will discuss silhouette, fabric, lining, buttons and all details before a single cut is made.
2. 30+ Measurements John takes over 30 individual measurements — including sub-measurements most tailors overlook. Shoulder slope, posture, waist-to-hip ratio, seat shape. Everything that makes your body unique is accounted for.
3. First Fitting Your suit comes together in a basted fitting — you try the shell before it's finished. Adjustments are made at this stage for perfect balance and fit.
4. Final Fitting & Collection Final adjustments are completed and your suit is hand-finished. Most suits are ready in 3–5 weeks.
True Bespoke clients receive additional fittings and a unique paper pattern kept on file permanently — so every future suit is cut from your exact pattern.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you tailor suits for curvy body types?
Yes. This is one of the core advantages of bespoke tailoring — there is no standard size to conform to. We takes 30+ measurements that account for every proportion, including waist-to-hip ratio, seat shape and posture. The suit is built around your body, not the other way around.
What should I wear to my first consultation?
Wear a well-fitted bra and the shoes you plan to wear with the suit, as heel height affects jacket and trouser length. Fitted undergarments give us the most accurate measurements.
Can I get a tailored suit instead of a wedding dress?
Absolutely — and it's a growing choice. We've made bridal suits in ivory, white, cream and champagne fabrics for brides who want something distinctive. Customisation options include contrast linings, monogramming and bespoke buttons. Tell us your vision and we'll make it.
What's the turnaround time?
Most suits are ready in 3–5 weeks from your first fitting. If you have a specific event date, let us know at your consultation and we'll plan accordingly.
Do you tailor suits for petite or tall women?
Yes. Jacket length, sleeve length, trouser break and overall proportions are all adjusted to suit your height. Petite and tall clients often find bespoke tailoring the only way to get a suit that truly fits.
What's the difference between Tailor Made and True Bespoke?
Tailor Made suits are made to your measurements from scratch — a significant step above made-to-measure or off-the-rack. True Bespoke adds additional fittings, full canvas construction, hand-stitched details, and a unique paper pattern kept on file permanently so every future suit is cut to your exact pattern.

What occasions are tailored suits suitable for women?
Tailored suits are versatile, ideal for business meetings, weddings, formal events, creative industries, or even as chic casual wear. Whether commanding a boardroom or attending a gala, a bespoke suit ensures you exude confidence and style.
